Top-tier Investment Bank is looking for COO /CFO to oversee and manage all operational areas of the Kazakh office with the objectives of lowest operating costs, balancing business, product and geographical growth with revenue with risk, as well as to implement a consistent and effective approach to operations in line with the strategic direction of the business.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
COO function:
General management and operational responsibility;
Managing local Operations, Corporate Services, Compliance and IT staff;
Lead and manage business change projects related to Kazakh operations.
CFO function:
Responsibility for set up, maintenance and supervision of accounting, financial and tax reporting procedures for all the entities registered in Kazakhstan.
Responsibility for internal controls;
Responsibility for set up, maintenance and supervision of treasury functions for all the entities registered in Kazakhstan.
Business planning, financial analysis, MI and budgeting/forecasting in accordance with Head Office guidelines / local management needs
Tax planning based on central guidelines. Providing advice and guidance on business tax issues relating to Kazakh entities.
Accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, audit (consolidated and individual) for Kazakh entities.
Supervision of regulatory reporting function, including capital adequacy requirements
Sign-off on New Business initiatives.
Communication with regulators, tax authorities and other external bodies.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Finance qualification
Extensive knowledge of Kazakh finance and governance structures, systems and practices.
Practical knowledge of Kazakh and IFRS accounting.
Local tax knowledge.
Languages: English, Russian.
EXPERIENTIAL BACKGROUND:
8+ years experience in Investment Banking or in a Big 4 Accounting Firm with specific Investment banking or commercial banking experience.
Experience in a CFO or COO role would be a benefit.
All-round finance background in an operational environment.
Proven ability to lead a team, identify and deliver strategic change
